NEW BRUNSWICK –
Wolfden Resources Corp. of Thunder Bay, Ont., has recently drilled good zinc-lead grades at its 100% owned Orvan Brook property 35 km west of Bathurst and 15 km northeast of the Caribou mine and mill. A total of 14 holes totaling 3,239 metres were completed over an intermittent strike length of 1.5 km.
Highlighting the drill results are intercepts of 7.15% zinc, 2.35% lead, 0.13% copper, 56.8 g/t silver & 0.44 g/t gold over 3.20 metres (OB-17-2); 7.38% zinc, 2.25% lead, 0.45% copper, 75.6 g/t silver & 0.55 g/t gold over 5.30 metres (OB-17-08); and 4.49% zinc, 1.26% lead, 0.22% copper, 32.4 g/t silver & 0.25 g/t gold over 5.40 metres (OB-17-14).
A second phase of drilling has begun to test the deeper levels of the deposit (an area of interest on the image). Historic holes have intersected 8.16% zinc, 2.85% lead and 0.28% copper over 5.47 metres and 7.37% zinc, 2.31% lead and 0.44% copper over 5.62 metres. Wolfden says that thicker intercepts of existing mineralization may offer the best opportunity of defining a resource. Assays from the second phase of drilling will be released as they become available.
A detailed table of all the assays from the first 14 drill holes is available in the Oct. 4, 2017, news release posted at
