Catherine McLeod-Seltzer, the independent chair of Kinross Gold (TSX: K; NYSE:KGC), joined The Northern Miner’s Canadian Mining Symposium Oct. 13 in London to chat about her career.

McLeod-Seltzer often found herself in rooms full of grey-haired men. Yet, she shattered glass ceilings in the industry as she steered projects in South America and co-founded Bear Creek Mining (CVE: BCM). Along the way she became a bit of an expert on alpacas and what it's like to live in the high Andes.

The mining executive sat sat down with Alisha Hiyate, Editor-in-Chief of The Northern Miner, as the conference's final keynote speaker.
