Hardox 500 Tuf is rugged enough to perform as a structural material in heavy duty dump bodies, containers and buckets. Superior wear and dent resistance gives increased service life and the ability to withstand heavy impact.

Working conditions where Hardox 500 Tuf will excel include the loading and unloading of heavy and sharp rocks in quarries and mines, handling large and heavy steel scrap, and in demolition when pieces of concrete containing rebar are loaded or dropped into dumpers. WearCalc and TippCalc calculations based on sliding wear with granite indicate that Hardox 500 Tuf has 85% to 100% longer service life compared to Hardox 400.
Hardox 500 Tuf has a guaranteed impact energy of 27 J at –20°C and a typical value of 45 J at –40°C. It has an unusually narrow Brinell hardness window of 475-505 HBW.
