Mobile equipment dealer Strongco has announced that construction is underway for a new Strongco branch near Kitchener, Ont. Construction is slotted to be completed by the end of this summer.

The new facility is purpose built to support the sale, rental and parts and service needs of the company’s customers in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. The building will have new and modern service bays along with a large parts warehouse in support of the Volvo Construction Equipment, Sennebogen and Eco Log Forestry products that Strongco distributes. The company also distributes Manitowoc, Grove, National Crane, Fassi Articulated Crane and Konecranes Industrial Trucks.

This new build in Breslau will be a state-of-the-art design with environmental sensitivities in mind as the property is next to a provincial wetland. The design will includes considerations to protect nesting turtles and other animal habitats.

For years, the existing Kitchener branch has been operating as a shared facility for both the Case (a line of construction equipment) and Volvo Construction Equipment divisions, selling, renting and servicing machines and warehousing OEM (original equipment manufacturer) parts.

The branch has now outgrown the existing building and each division needs to expand into its own facility. The decision to relocate these business divisions into their own dedicated spaces is significant and the locations chosen are optimally suited to service their respective customers in the Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo and surrounding areas.

“This area within Ontario continues to grow as many national accounts, large independent equipment rental houses, and heavy construction operations move into the area and the upgrade will reduce service times by having improved parts and service amenities and spacious drive through bays,” Paul George, regional VP, Ontario construction equipment, said in a release.

Since Feb. 22, the Case division has been up and running in its dedicated facility; this facility is larger and has undergone extensive renovations to provide customers with a full range of Case equipment, parts and services.

“This sends a strong message to our customers and the competition. It shows that Strongco is committed and ready to grow in the Tri City area,” concluded Oliver Nachevski, Strongco president and CEO.

Strongco, a wholly owned subsidiary of Portuguese private company Nors, is a major multiline mobile equipment dealer with operations across Canada. Strongco sells, rents and services equipment used in sectors such as construction, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, among others.
