Sokoman Minerals (TSXV:SIC; OTCQB:SICNF) reported that more than 50% of its drill holes intersected gold mineralization during its recent drilling program at its Fleur de Lys gold project.

The company completed its phase 1 drill program at its Fleur de Lys project in northwestern Newfoundland and Labrador. The company’s drill teams evaluated twenty reconnaissance drill holes for high priority geochemical and/or geophysical targets, including seven holes in the immediate vicinity of the gold-bearing Golden Bull boulders. Sokoman Minerals stated that three others (FDL-24-9,10, and 17) assessed showings discovered by Noranda in the late 1980s.

Sokoman Minerals stated these drilled results come after it successfully received and compiled its preliminary assays. In the end, the company’s drilling teams discovered 12 drill holes – including the three holes on the Noranda targets – that had intersected gold mineralization (>200 ppb).

Timothy Froude, President and CEO of Sokoman Minerals, stated, "Our inaugural drill program was conducted on an 8 km2 section of the 329 km2 Fleur de Lys project. It returned many promising results, with 50% of the drill holes intersecting gold-bearing structures. The final and most northerly hole (FDL-24-23) intersected five separate gold-bearing veins, which indicates a new direction for further exploration. We are highly encouraged by our progress, even though we have yet to pinpoint the source of the high-grade Golden Bull gold-mineralized boulder field. We will be interpreting the information collected to date as well as future geophysical surveys to further define the mineralized structures before planning a phase 2 drill program."

Sokoman Minerals announced that it has an ambitious program for 2025. Its new year plans include: Further exploration, including prospecting, mapping, geophysical work, trenching, and the start of phase 2 drilling.

The Fleur de Lys project is located adjacent to Newfoundland’s recent gold production on the Baie Verte Peninsula. The project involves a total of 1,315 claims over 328.75 sq.km. The company stated the property is situated next to “excellent infrastructure” which they stated includes ready access to hundreds of kilometres of paved secondary highways as well as forest access service roads. Sokoman Minerals also mentioned that recent federal/provincial mapping and airborne geophysical data is now available in a newly released digital geoscience atlas of the Baie Verte Peninsula.
