MEXICO - Vancouver-based GREAT PANTHER RESOURCES has officially begun production at its Guanajuato silver-gold complex. The property, purchased in late-2005, includes the nearby Valenciana, Catas and Rayas mines.
Great Panther has approved a US$2.25-million capital program to develop stopes in the Guanajuato mine, buy new mining equipment and build a lab on site. Portions of the Catas and Rayas mines are also slated for reopening. The property includes a 1,200-tonnes/day mill, which is operating at only 400 t/d now, but full capacity should be reached by the end of the year.
More information about the Guanajuato and Great Panther's other Mexican mines is available at www.GreatPanther.com.
