QUEBEC – Abcourt Mines of Mont-St-Hilaire, QC, reports silver assays as high as 4,696.0 g/t Ag and 11.75% Zn from drilling in the western part of the Abcourt-Barvue orebody. The former Abcourt-Barvue mine, 60 km north of Val d’Or, operated from 1985 to 1990, and ore was trucked 250 km to the Matagami mill.
The highest grade core was a 1.3-metre section from about 244.0 metres below surface. It was part of a 4.7-metre intercept that averaged 1,386.2 g/t Ag and 5.57% Zn.
As of April 30, 2011, the property had measured and indicated resources of 7.0 million tonnes grading 61.19 g/t Ag, 3.33% Zn plus minor gold. The inferred resource was 1.5 million tonnes grading 120.5 g/t Ag and 2.98% Zn. Abcourt is updating the resource at its Abcourt-Barvue property.
