Sandvik donates loader to Cambrian College for BEV training

Cambrian College has just received equipment and direct support from Sandvik, a global leading supplier for the mining industry. The support includes an A4 battery operated loader with an associated battery pack assembly and charger, as well as four battery modules to support training.

Sandvik has also contributed to the College's new Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Lab, which is currently under construction and located within the College’s Centre for Smart Mining in Sudbury, Ont.

The BEV Lab is a 520 m² facility that will be located in the Glencore Centre for Innovation at the college's main campus. It will house cutting edge equipment that will generate critical data on the performance characteristics of BEVs as the mining industry continues to incorporate them into the sector.

Construction of the BEV Lab is slated for completion in the fall of 2023. In recognition of their generous contribution, Sandvik will be commemorated in the Glencore Centre for Innovation's innovation room, which will now be known as the Sandvik Innovation Room. This state-of-the-art space is specifically designed to foster collaborative brainstorming and innovation, a fitting tribute to Sandvik's invaluable contribution to the project.
