For those of you who frequent this spot once or twice a week, rest assured that Marilyn Scales, Canadian Mining Journal’s Field Editor, will return next week with her regular comments following her trip to the frigid wilds of Northern Ontario where she is at this very moment, physically searching for “A girl’s best friend.”
That’s right, Marilyn is looking for a diamond or more accurately, lots of diamonds as she visits the De Beer’s Victor Mine in the James Bay Lowlands. As most of you know, this is De Beer’s first diamond mine in Ontario and given the company’s reputation in the world of diamonds, there’s little doubt that the Victor Mine is, and will continue to be a huge success but Marilyn will tell you more about it next month when we feature the De Beer’s project in our January issue.
In the meantime, there’s a lot more going on across the country and as always, Canadian Mining Journal is pleased to provide you with an update on what’s making mining news.
