The peaceful passing of Russ Noble, surrounded by family, on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Scarborough General Hospital. A lifelong resident of Toronto, Russ was 74 years old.

Russ was the beloved husband of Lina Noble (née Di Rosa) for 53 years. He was the cherished father of Richard (Leslie) of Burlington and Gregory of Oshawa, and a proud grandfather to Simon, Lydia, and Declan. He will be dearly missed by his brother Ralph (Lida) of Toronto and his extended family. Russ was the son of the late Joyce Dorothy Noble (née Keen) and William Lloyd Noble.

An accomplished, award-winning journalist and editor, Russ dedicated his career to writing for industry publications such as Canadian Consulting Engineer and Heavy Construction News, and he retired from the Canadian Mining Journal. He had a talent for gaining access to exclusive industry insights and sharing untold stories. He had a broad range of interests and a constant curiosity for learning. Russ valued the simple pleasures of reading the newspaper, engaging in meaningful conversations, and spending time with family and friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Scarborough General Hospital, especially Dr. Tabari and Dr. Abdulhussein, for their compassionate care during Russ's final days.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 200 Morrish Rd., Toronto. A celebration of life will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, 258 Highland Creek Branch, 305 Morrish Rd., Toronto, from 12 ro 4 p.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Scarborough Health Network Foundation in Russ's memory.
