Northern Superior Resources (TSXV: SUP; OTCQB: NSUPF) reports high-grade assay results from recent drilling completed on its Philibert project located 60 km southwest of Chibougamau, Que.
The results include 2.93 g/t gold over 16.3 metres from DDH PB-23-439 and 1.30 g/t gold over 35.2 metres from DDH PB-23-441. Drilling was on the Gap zone between the Arctic Fox and Fennec Fox zones, as well as along a 200-metre gap within the Corsac trend.
Simon Marcotte, president and CEO of Northern Superior, said the findings are strategically important because they link mineralization in two areas where a lack of data was creating gaps in their resource model.
“We can now envision a potential larger, more continuous open pit operation for all zones, which should also facilitate eventual operational access to the higher-grade mineralization at depth,” Marcotte said.
The Philibert project is comprised of five main zones, with the northwest and southeast domains being the primary components. Northern Superior undertook a 3,000-metre drilling program earlier this year to investigate the gap area between these domains.

Is this a new discovery zone or an old one that has not been drill?

The drill program at the Philibert gold property is on-going. What is new is the result of new holes drilled between areas of previously known mineralization.
