In the Sept. 14 Net News, Jane Werniuk wondered at the advisability of stating "conceptual" resource figures, that is numbers that do not comply with National Instrument 43-101. Many of our readers agreed, including Rejean Girard, president of IOS Services Geoscientifiques Inc. He wrote:
"If a mineral reserve or resource is not calculated according to CIM standards, backed by metallurgical testing and bullet-proof due diligence, it should not be published nor even mentioned. There is no such thing as 'conceptual resources'. However, I am very surprised that Robert Wares, a well reputed professional geologist, made such a mistake."
