There are days when editors barely know up from down, and Scott Smith of Newmont pointed that out.
"Just a correction to let you know you have your north and south mixed up," he wrote. "The [Shahuindo] property is 25 km NORTH of Barrick's Alto Chicama project and 70 km SOUTH of Newmont's Yanacocha mine."
What's really in dispute is the ownership of the Shahuindo gold-silver property. Century Mining has made a hostile bid for Sulliden Exploration, which recently won control of the project (CMJ Net News, Oct. 14, 2007).
