Earlier this week, we wrote an item about the Cree Nation of Nemaska investing $600,000 in Nemaska Exploration. Lesley Hunt, an independent geological consultant in northern British Columbia, applauded the news: "By golly, please use this article to herald our Aboriginal people finally stepping up to the exploration plate of the new millenium! Exploration expenses have increased dramatically over the last few decades, so much that so that only large very wealthy companies can afford to do it. Not only have fuel, supplies, and wages skyrocketed, the [cost of the] new government and securities regulatory demands have just about crippled most of the smaller junior exploration companies. For an Aboriginal group to appreciate this reality and actually GIVE to a company is heroic!"
