MINING PEOPLE: Siemens Canada, Melior

[caption id="attachment_1003719527" align="alignleft" width="180"] Faisal Kazi.[/caption] Based in Oakville, Ont., Siemens Canada has named Faisal Kazi as its new president and CEO, effective Sept. 1, 2017. He joined the company in 1991 and most recently was senior VP responsible for the Energy Management division in Canada and acted as the regional and sales head of the Transformers business in North and South America. The new COO at Melior Resources in Toronto is Logan Francis. He will oversee the restart of the company’s Goondicum ilmenite project in Queensland, Australia, through to operation. Francis has strong industry experience particularly in mineral sands as well as a diverse range of projects.
