MINING PEOPLE: New Gold, Banro, Franco-Nevada, and SSR Mining

[caption id="attachment_1003723172" align="alignleft" width="192"] Raymond Threlkeld[/caption] New Gold of Toronto has named Raymond Threlkeld as its new president and CEO. He has been a member of the board since 2009 and was New Gold’s COO from December 2016 to September 2017. Threlkeld succeeds Hannes Portman who has left the company. Toronto’s Banro Corporation has named Brett A. Richards as the chairman and CEO of the company. He is a senior mining and metals executive with over 32 years of experience in mine development, senior level operations, mine financing and mergers and acquisitions. With the retirement of Graham Farquharson, Paul Brink has been promoted to president and COO of Franco-Nevada Corp. in Toronto. He was formerly the company’s VP of business development. Kevin O’Kane is now COO of SSR Mining in Vancouver. He was most recently asset president, Pampa Norte, BHP Minerals Americas. He holds a BSc degree from Queen's University and has more than 30 years’ experience in mine development and operations. O’Kane succeeds Alan Pangbourne, effective June 4, 2018.
