MINING PEOPLE: Liberty Gold, Newmont Goldcorp, and RPMGlobal

Vancouver-based Liberty Gold has named Ron Parratt as senior advisor. During his 40 years in mining and exploration, he played a vital role in the discovery of several large gold deposits – Rabbit Creek (now Twin Creeks), Lone Tree, Trenton Canyon, Gold Hill and Long Canyon – in the Great Basin of Nevada. Newmont Goldcorp of Denver has chosen Tom Palmer to succeed Gary Goldberg as the company’s president, CEO and a board member. The appointment takes effect on Oct. 1, 2019, when Goldberg retires.
