MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Avanti, Noront and Wallbridge

Avanti Mining of Vancouver has hired Kenneth W. Collison as senior VP project development. He was most recently COO of Thompson Creek Metals.

Chief Glenn Nolan of the Missanabie Cree First Nation is now the VP of aboriginal affairs at Toronto's Noront Resources. He is also second VP of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada and a director of a publicly traded junior mining company.

Wallbridge Mining of Toronto has added Parviz Farsangi, former executive VP and COO of Vale Inco, and Roland Horst, who has been involved in production, development and exploration around the world, to its board of directors.
