MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Anaconda, Golden Hope, Latin American Minerals, SGS and Solid Resources

Toronto-based Anaconda Mining has restructured its management team, naming Dustin Angelo president and CEO. Former president Lew Lawrick becomes chairman, and former chairman John McBride will remain on the board.

Michael T. Zurowski has been named a director of Toronto's Golden Hope Mines. He is also a founder of and executive VP of Baffinland Iron Mines.

Latin American Minerals of Toronto has named Miles Rideout president and CEO. He will be based in the company's Mendoza, Argentina, office. Rideout was formerly business development manager for Latin America at Quantec Geoscience.

Steve Wilson is the new global VP metallurgy and mineralogy with SGS Mineral Services at its head office in Toronto. His background is in research engineering and process development.

Vancouver's Solid Resources has appointed Greg Pendura to the role of CEO following the resignation of Joerg Schuetz. Pendura also sits on the board of Anglo Swiss Resources.
