ALHAMBRA RESOURCES of Calgary has appointed Graham A. Karklin to its board of directors. A graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines, he is best known in Canada for his work at Echo Bay Mines and the Lupin gold mine in Nunavut.
The new VP mining at NEW MILLENNIUM CAPITAL CORP. of Calgary is Jean-Charles Bourassa. He will lead the team that will develop the company's direct shipping iron ore project in Labrador. Three other appointments have been noted: Dean Journeaux to COO, Bish Chanda to VP marketing and Moulaye Melainine to VP development.
SAN GOLD of Bissett, Man., has named Ian Berzins its new COO. He was most recently general manager responsible for the startup of Sherwood Copper's Minto mine. He earned a mining engineering degree from Queen's University and has held management positions at Harmony Gold, Echo Bay Mines, Miramar Mining, Albian Sands and Suncor.
