MINING PEOPLE: Discovery Metals, Northern Shield, and X-Terra Resources

Vancouver-based Discovery Metals Corp. has named Taj Singh as president and CEO. He is a mining executive with over 17 years of experience, most recently as VP engineering and project development at Timmins Gold. The appointment becomes effective with the company’s proposed change of business and associated $10-million private placement. [caption id="attachment_1003719076" align="alignleft" width="217"] Michel Chapdelaine.[/caption] The new chairman of the board at Northern Shield Resources in Ottawa is Russell Richards, following the retirement of William Kiff. Additionally, the company has appointed Dr. Frank Santaguida to the board.   X-Terra Resources has named Michel Chapdelaine as its new VP exploration and development. He joined the company’s board and technical committee at the start of this year.
