STATESVILLE, South Carolina – Doosan Portable Power has expanded its line of portable light towers with the introduction of two small body model light towers – the LSV6 and LSV8. Both include many of the same premium features and reliable performance as the midsize light tower, but with a compact design and vertical mast that allow for greater maneuverability, ease of transport and a low operating cost.
The new LSV6 and LSV8 light towers round out the Doosan lineup of vertical mast light towers, complementing the larger model L20.
Both LSV light towers boast a vertical mast that manually extends to 7.75 metres with four 1,000 W metal halide lamps as standard equipment. A hydraulic actuated tower is available as an upgrade option on both models.
The vertical mast design significantly cuts setup time compared to a traditional laydown mast. Stowing the mast on top of the unit also improves transport safety and lowers transport cost with the ability to fit 16 units on a 14.5-metre flatbed truck. The LSV6 and LSV8 are 2,515 mm long and 1,245 mm wide with a travel position height of 99 inches.
The LSV6 is powered by a Tier 4 Final-compliant Kubota D1005BG diesel engine with a Mecc Alte 6 kW alternator, and the LSV8 is equipped with a Tier 4 Final Kubota D1105 engine and Mecc Alte 8 kW alternator. The voltage allows operators to utilize the receptacle power function to power tools or heaters while without sacrificing light in applications such as drilling.
Standard configuration on the LSV6 includes a detachable drawbar for trouble free towing, one duplex receptacle, a 500-mm ball hitch and a 520 CCA battery. Options on the LSV6 and LSV8 include drip containment, 100% containment, combination hitch, electric fuel pump and lockable battery disconnect. Cold weather options include a block heater, block/battery heaters and 1,000 CCA battery. Aftermarket kits are available for both the LSV6 and the LSV8.
