Two deaths at Canadian mines, one in Yukon and one in Labrador have come to our attention of late. We are asking CMJ readers whether such "accidents" can be anticipated and avoided.
Please go to the CMJ website, www.CanadianMiningJournal.com, and find the Hot Topic Opinions half-way down on the left hand side of the page to vote.
Last week we noted the Canadian provinces and territories that made it into the top 10 places to explore for minerals and asked CMJ readers which is their favourite. More than half the voters (55%) chose Saskatchewan. The others were ranked thus: Manitoba 30%; Alberta, Newfoundland and Quebec 5% each; and New Brunswick none.

Sirs,
I submit a quote from the reference below :-
“Frequently after an accident people chorus that risk was not managed properly. Not necessarily so.Culpable negligence must contend with bad luck as the explanation. If people take risks there will be
accidents”.
