GOLD: Richmont to extend life of Beaufor mine

QUEBEC – Richmont Mines of Montreal has decided to develop the deeper Q zone at the Beaufor gold mine 27 km northeast of Val d'Or. The decision will extend the mine life at least two years, through 2017.

The Q zone is about 34 metres below the mine's current infrastructure. Only six months and $2.5 million are needed to reach the upper part of the zone. Ore from the new development will add 20,000 to 25,000 oz of gold to annual production in both 2016 and 2017.

The Beaufor mine has produced more than 500,000 oz of gold since start-up in the mid-1960s. Please see Richmont-Mines.com.
