QUEBEC –
QMX Gold Corp. of Toronto is preparing for a 5,000-metre drilling program at the Bevcon target about 25 km east of Val d’Or. The program is to be started before the end of August 2017.
Drilling will follow the extension of the gold shear zones in the volcanic rocks north of the Bevcon intrusion. The target area covers the former Bevcon gold mine that was a producer from 1947 to 1965. During that time, the mine produced 478,000 oz of gold, making it the sixth largest gold mine in the Val d’Or camp. Bevcon was last drilled in 1992.
