Assays from the Beacon zone, in Louvicourt Township, include an intersection of 6.1 g/t over 5.4 metres including 32.6 g/t gold over 1.0 metre and another intersection of 7.6 g/t over 3.0 metres. QMX says the mineralization is similar to that at the Goldex mine, occurring in a multiple quartz-tourmaline-pyrite vein system with alteration along the margins of the veins.
The best results from three drill holes in the Southwestern zone, in Bourlamaque Township, were 14.0 g/t gold over 0.7 metre and 4.9 g/t over 3.2 metres. A diorite sill cut at the southern boundary of the zone appears to be on-trend of the Triangle zone at the Lamaque project. QMX plans further drilling at depth. The Southwestern zone also returned anomalous levels of copper, zinc and silver.
The QMX team has re-examined historical data from two additional zones on the east side of the property – Bonnefond South plug and Bevcon. The gold environment at Bonnefond is thought to be similar to that at the Southwestern zone, and that at Bevcon includes the past-producing mine of the same name.
