QUEBEC – Drilling near the past producing Bevcon gold mine shows signs strong mineralization, says owner
QMX Gold Corp. of Toronto. Specifically, what it calls the North Shear target has tested 305.5 g/t gold over 0.7 metre and 4.6 g/t over 14.2 metres, including 9.0 g/t gold over 6.8 metres.
The gold-bearing shear zones intersected during this winter’s drill program lie north of the Bevcon Intrusion within volcanic rocks of the Val d’Or formation. The highest assay was associated with centimetric quartz veins with visible gold inside a shear zone of 28.3 metres (core length).
QMX considers the East zone (the blue area to the right on the map) to be underexplored over its 9-km strike length. There are several gold-bearing intrusions including the Bonnefond, South, New Louvre and Bevcon. Drilling is underway at all four targets.
