QUEBEC – Toronto-based
Orford Mining Corp. (formerly Focused Capital) says it has drilled multiple high grade intersections – up to 13.7 g/t gold – at the Qiqavik project in Nunavik, 70 km south of the village of Salluit on the coast of Hudson Straight. Orford acquired control of the property when it bought up True North Nickel which had a 68% interest.

Orford made five new surface discoveries at the Aurora Central, Gerfaut South, Central Qiqavik, Horizon, and Focused Intrusive zones. Samples from Aurora Central yield 457.4 g/t, 114.7 g/t and 112.1 g/t gold. At Gerfaut South several high grade boulders with visible gold were found. Fourteen samples from Central Qiqavik taken over a 2 km by 2 km area graded between 5 g/t and 114 g/t gold. The Horizon channel sample returned 5.6 g/t gold over 0.9 metres. Local quartz vein blocks at the Focused Intrusive yielded values up to 8.93 g/t gold.
More importantly, 14 of the 19 drill holes recently completed returned gold mineralization – up to 13.7 g/t at Aurora, up to 8.8 g/t at Esperance, and 5.6 g/t at Esperance West. Copper assays are pending.
A detailed table of drill and sampling results is available in the Oct. 26, 2017, news release at
