Assays have demonstrated very high grades and continuity of the mineralization associated with the Megane zone. Hole NL17-197 returned 67.42 g/t gold over 3.5 metres, including 203.31 g/t over 1.2 metres. Hole ML17-198B returned 80.28 g/t gold over 5.0 metres, including 208.41 g/t over 1.8 metres.
The lower shear zone returned 39.48 g/t gold over 1.6 metres, including 66.50 g/t over 0.9 metre, in hole ML17-199.
Successful results from the winter drilling will allow Iamgold to revise the deposit model. In the coming weeks a 1,600-metre diamond drilling program will be undertaken to test gold-bearing structure along the main shear and parallel structures.
