(Image: Monarques Gold)[/caption] QUEBEC – Montreal-based Monarques Gold Corp. has hired BBA to conduct a conceptual study for custom milling gold ore from the Wasamac project  15 km west of Rouyn-Noranda. Treating ore at an existing mill with a permitted tailings facility would greatly reduce pre-production costs for the project, something the company calls a “game changer.” Monarques became 100% owner when it acquired Wasamac from Richmont Mines last year. Monarques management is considering bulk, railcar transportation of ore to mineral processing plants from Timmins, Ont., to Val d’Or, Que., although the company’s own Camflo and Beacon mills might be likely choices. The Wasamac property has measured and indicated resources of 29.9 million tonnes grading 2.70 g/t gold for 2.6 million contained oz. and an inferred resource of 4.2 million tonnes grading 2.20 g/t for 293,900 contained oz of gold. The Wasamac mine operated intermittently from 1951 to 1971, producing about 252,920 oz. of gold from reported head grades of 4.16 g/t gold. Further information is available at www.MonarquesGold.com.
