QUEBEC –
Monarques Gold Corp. of Montreal has released results of drilling in the zone Q and the new zone 1700 at the Beaufor mine 27 km northeast of Val d’Or.
Holes drilled in zone Q intersected new subparallel areas. The holes returned these assays: 61.5 g/t gold over 3.9 metres including 361.0 g/t over 0.7 metre; 39.1 g/t gold over 1.8 metres including 100.0 g/t over 0.7 metre; and 15.4 g/t gold over 3.0 metres including 49.6 g/t over 0.8 metre. Zone Q is currently the main source of production.
Zone 1700 is a newly discovered area. Significant assays from there are 12.3 g/t gold over 1.6 metres including 36.3 g/t over 0.5 metre.
Monarques says these new zones are similar to the typical known quartz-tourmaline veins at the Beaufor mine. There is also disseminated pyrite associated with diorite dikes.
