QUEBEC CENTURY MINING CORP. of Blaine, Washington, has temporarily suspended production at its Lamaque underground gold mine in Val d'Or. Operations at the company's San Juan mine in Peru will continue as normal.
The Century board made its decision in the interests of saving money while it arranges financing. The company secured a commitment for $6 million from MRI TRADING AG, and is in a due diligence process with FORTIS BANK for a financing package of up to $70 million.
Mining could be restarted within six months and ramped up to full production at 5,000 t/d. See the website at www.CenturyMining.com for further information.
