NEVADA – Construction is well underway at the Gold Bar project in central Nevada. Owner
McEwen Mining of Toronto is preparing for commercial production in 2019.
The company says the mild winter has allowed it to fast track parts of the project. All major site contractors were on the site in early November. Site clearance and preparation for this year’s civil work is almost complete. Temporary offices, communications equipment, water and power have been installed. Installation of the mine water supply system is underway. Work has begun to prepare the Cabin Creek pit, the initial ore source.
Gold Bar is a heap leach designed to produce 65,000 oz. of gold per year and 325,000 oz. over the life of the mine. The measured and indicated resource is 20.1 million tonnes averaging 0.87 g/t gold, and the inferred portion is 4.2 million tonnes at 0.75 g/t gold.
