ECUADOR – Vancouver-based
Lundin Gold has received the Industrial Water Permit and the Administrative Act permit for its Fruta del Norte gold project 9 km northeast of the village of San Antonio. The permits were issued by La Secretaría Nacional del Agua (SENAGUA). Both permits were needed before the mine and mill moves into production.

Lundin says the mineral processing plant has been in the hot commissioning phase for about a month. First gold production is planned for this quarter.
Fruta del Norte is one of the largest and highest grade gold mines nearing production anywhere around the globe. It has indicated resources of 23.8 million tonnes grading 9.61 g/t gold (7.35 million oz. contained) and 12.9 g/t silver (9.89 million oz.). The inferred portion is 11.6 million tonnes at 5.69 g/t gold (2.13 million oz.) and 10.8 g/t silver (4.05 million oz.).
