The new drift will extend mine access by almost 365 metres to the southeast along strike between the Copperstone zone and the parallel Footwall zone.
DMC Mining Service has been awarded the contract for the work.
Earlier this month
Godbe Drilling began a 4,575-metre surface drilling program for Kerr. Information from this and the underground program will be used to produce a prefeasibility study, to be conducted by
Hard Rock Consulting for Copperstone.
Kerr is planning to restart production at Copperstone. The property has extensive underground development, a 410-t/d mill, and all necessary infrastructure. The deposit contains measured and indicated resources of 942,000 tonnes at 10.3 g/t gold and containing 313,000 oz. The inferred resource in the South zone is 335,000 tonnes grading 12.2 g/t gold.
