QUEBEC - Vancouver-based NORTHERN STAR MINING has received a certificate of authorization from the Quebec government to build a 1,770-metres-long decline at its Midway gold project near Val d'Or. The decline will facilitate mining a bulk sample from mineralization identified earlier by surface drilling.
The portal will be located some 1,220 metres southeast of the 915-metre-deep No.1 shaft. The decline will have dimensions of 5.0 metres wide by 4.7 metres high with loading (remuck) bays located approximately every 110 metres. Northern Star has contracted DUMAS CONTRACTING to build the decline.
The Midway project is discussed in detail at the company's website, www.NSMgold.com.
