ONTARIO – Toronto-based Strike Minerals has encountered gold values up to 69 g/t Au during its underground exploration and development program at the Edwards mine 50 km northeast of Wawa.
Drilling encountered a high grade vein on the left side of recent drifting activity. Strike says the vein is at leas 1.1 metres in width. Initial samples graded from 14.53 g/t Au to 69.52 g/t, and the majority of intersections were above 45.60 g/t Au. Drifting along the vein will continue so that the possibility of taking a bulk sample can be determined.
The Edwards underground exploration program includes drifting on the 60-metre level to intersect the five known gold zones based on intersections from historical diamond drill holes between surface and the 100-metre level. Drifting is continuing along the first zone (Edwards No.1) towards the targeted surface hole that encountered 29 g/t Au over 2.2 metres. Cross cutting continues towards the other four zones. A similar program will be conducted on the 90-metre level.
Strike acquired the former Edwards mine in 2002. Learn more at StrikeMinerals.com.
