The project, located adjacent to Goldcorp’s Eleonore mine, is a joint venture of
Eastmain Resources (36.7% and the operator),
Azimut Exploration (26.6%), and a subsidiary of
Goldcorp (36.7%).
The recent drill program tested a 2-km area within a 4-km by 500-metres prospective corridor. The Moni and Trench targets within a tonalite intrusion and the tonalite contacts with metasediments further to the east were tested. Preliminary interpretations of the large gold-bearing system is as a late stage hydrothermal-magmatic phase directly related to the tonalitic intrusion.
