MONTREAL –
Dundee Sustainable Technologies (DST) has recovered 97.3% of the gold in concentrates from a location in Chile without the use of cyanide. Instead, the company’s demonstration plant in Quebec uses DST’s proprietary chlorination technology.
The high gold recovery was achieved at the outlet of the chlorination reactor with full environmental controls over the sulphur and mercury content. A technical report will be forthcoming.
DST processed 40 tonnes of concentrate, which contained an estimated 110 g/t Au, 9.0% Cu, and mercury content in excess of 700 g/t at the demonstration plant. In particular, the 700 g/t of mercury was effectively removed during processing to a level of 99%.
