ALASKA - ST ANDREW GOLDFIELDS of Oakville, Ont., has made the first shipment of copper and gold concentrates from its Nixon Fork mine. The material is being back-hauled by air to Fairbanks on the planes that deliver fuel to the minesite. The concentrates will be treated at XSTRATAs Horne smelter in Rouyn-Noranda, Que. Gold dor is also being produced.
The Nixon Fork project is scheduled to produce 40,000 oz of gold in 2007. The underground mine is producing 150 t of ore per day. Proven and probable reserves are approximately 177,500 t at 22.0 g/t Au.
