BRITISH COLUMBIA – The high grades just keep turning up at the Island Mountain gold property, part of the Cariboo gold project belonging to Barkerville Gold Mines of Toronto. (Credit: Barkerville Gold Mines)[/caption] The best recent assay was 17.30 g/t gold over 7.50 metres at 170 metres below surface in the Valley zone. Other results from the Valley zone included 12.27 g/t gold over 4.55 metres and 11.33 g/t over 3.00 metres. Gold occurs in quartz veins. Barkerville noted that because of the wide hole spacing and lack of historical drilling results, all occurrences are open for expansion. "The high grade vein corridors in the Valley zone continue to be identified and will require infill drilling later in the year." said Chris Lodder, president and CEO, in a release. "Seven drills are focused on infill drilling on Island Mountain and one rig is conducting reconnaissance drilling on Barkerville Mountain.” The company has begun regional exploration again, and it will continue until late September. More information about the company’s properties is available at www.BarkervilleGold.com.
