NEWFOUNDLAND –
Anaconda Mining of Toronto has filed its most recent resource estimate for its Pointe Rousse gold project near Baie Verte. The numbers include the Pine Cove, Stog’er Tight and Argyle deposits.
The indicated portion is 1.6 million tonnes averaging 2.30 g/t gold and containing 119,570 oz. of gold. The inferred resource is 1.2 million tonnes at 1.95 g/t gold for 78,090 oz. Included in the total is a probable reserve estimate for Pine Cove and Stog’er Tight of 887,700 tonnes containing 35,180 oz. of gold. The effective date of the estimate is Dec. 31, 2017.
Anaconda says the report includes significant advances that it has made at Pointe Rousse since 2015. The Argyle resources represent the first estimate for that deposit. Mining at Stog’er Tight is to begin in Q1 2018. The company recently permitted a new tailings management facility including in-pit storage for 15 or more years of tails produced at current milling rates. Anaconda will continue its successful aggregate business using crushed mine waste.
