OTTAWA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper has unveiled his new 39-member cabinet following the federal election earlier this month. His choice for Minister of Natural Resources is rookie MP Joe Oliver.
Oliver is a former investment banker, executive director of the Ontario Securities Commission and CEO of the Investment Dealers Association.
Born in Montreal, Oliver received his undergraduate and law degrees from McGill University. He earned his MBA at Harvard University. He is also a graduate of the directors education program at the Rotman School of Management.
Living in Toronto, he represents the riding of Eglinton-Lawrence.
