(Image: Imperial Metals)[/caption] BRITISH COLUMBIA – The regulatory body Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is planning disciplinary hearings for three individuals with respect to the Mount Polley tailings spill in 2014. The regulator’s investigation committee alleges that three engineers involved in the design, construction and monitoring of the tailings storage facility were negligent and/or unprofessional in their conduct. At this time the allegations have not been heard by the disciplinary panel and are, therefore, unproven. The hearings are scheduled for next year. See also www.EGBC.ca.
