DRAGLINE – Anglo Coal Australia chooses Bucyrus

AUSTRALIA - BUCYRUS INTERNATIONAL of South Milwaukee, Wis., says it has sold one of its 8750AC walking draglines to an unnamed operation belonging to ANGLO COAL AUSTRALIA.

This dragline will have a complete AC-IGBT electrical drive system. The combined hoist, drag, swing and walking motion systems will have over 37,500 hp. The machine can lower its 95.6-m bucket to a depth of over 54.8 m and drag it until it is filled with nearly 168,000 kb of overburden, according to the manufacturer. The loaded bucket can then be lifted to a height of 51.8 m above ground as it is slewed to dump as far as 91.4 m away. Operating weight of the 8750AC is approximately 5.4 million kg.
