NORTHWEST TERRITORIES –
Kennady Diamonds of Toronto has the recovery results from the Faraday 2 bulk sample taken from its Kennady North project 280 km northeast of Yellowknife and adjacent to the Gahcho Kue diamond mine. The 262.6-tonne sample graded 2.81 carats per tonne. The grade is similar to the mini-bulk sample reported in July 2016.
The sample also yielded 45 stones >1.0 carat. The largest diamond recovered was 4.72 carats, described as a white/colourless octahedron with minor inclusions. Three other notable stones were also recovered – 4.28 carat off-white, 3.45 carat brown transparent, and 2.69 carat white/colorless, transparent tetrahexahedroid.
Kennady expects the results of the Faraday 3 and 1 bulk samples to be available in mid-June 2017. Check at
