DIAMOND DEVELOPMENT: Shore powers up for Star project

SASKATCHEWAN — Shore Gold of Saskatoon has signed a letter of intent with Saskatchewan Power Corp. (SaskPower) in regards to supplying electric power for the Star diamond project near Prince Albert, SK.

Shore will provide up to $500,000 with which SaskPower is to carry out preliminary engineering and environmental studies to determine a preferred route of transmission lines between the project and the provincial power grid. The work is to be completed by the end of June 2010.

Shore has not yet made a formal development announcement for the Star and FALC joint venture properties. "The accessibility of abundant, low-cost power to the Star diamond project significantly improves project economics," said senior VP exploration and development George Read in a news release.
