COPPER-NICKEL: Tonnage grows for Duluth Metals in Minnesota

MINNESOTA – Duluth Metals of Toronto has increased the metal content as well as the tonnage of the resources in four deposits at its Twin Metals project in the northeast part of the state.

Using a base case 03.% Cu cut-off, AMEC produced a report that put measured resources at 268 million tonnes grading 0.63% Cu, 0.20% Ni and 0.58 ppm total precious metals (platinum, palladium and gold). Indicated resources were estimated at 886 million tonnes grading 0.58% Cu, 0.19% Ni and 0.61 ppm TPM. The inferred resources are 1.191 billion tonnes grading 0.51% Cu, 0.17% Ni and 0.53 ppm TPM.

The Twin Metals project is shaping up to be very large. Contained metals in the measured and indicated resource total 14.7 billion lb of copper, 4.7 billion lb of nickel, 5.8 million oz of platinum, 13.2 million oz of palladium, and 3.2 million oz of gold. Add to that the inferred resources with 12.3 billion lb of copper, 4.2 billion lb of nickel, 3.6 million oz of platinum, 8.0 million oz of palladium and 1.8 million oz of gold.
