YUKON The Yukon Department of Energy, Mines and Resources has approved the expansion of SHERWOOD COPPER's Minto mill to 3,200 t/d. Sherwood, headquartered in Vancouver, opened the Minto copper-gold mine 240 km northwest of Whitehorse in October 2007.<br>

Sherwood says it will have to spend less than $3 million to boost throughput 28%, to 3,200 t/d from 2,500 t/d. Besides minor piping changes, a new concentrate thickener will be installed. A change to coarser grinding will also be made.<br>
