AUSTRALIA – Ivanhoe Australia of Melbourne has made the first shipment of copper-gold concentrate from the Osborne project in northwest Queensland.
The 10,600-wet-tonne shipment left Townsville in the middle of June 2012, headed for an Asian smelter. It contained copper worth A$15 million and gold worth A$5 million. The Osborne project earlier poured its initial gold doré bar weighing 9 km.
Ivanhoe Australia (IvanhoeAustralia.com) trades on the TSX and the company’s largest shareholder is Ivanhoe Mines of Vancouver.
